Reaching Shimla by train
New Delhi to Shimla train journey is the most sought after train travel in Northern India though there are no direct trains between the two stations.
The first phase journey is in between New Delhi and Kalka, the last broad gauge station on the foothills of the Shivalik mountain ranges. The distance can be covered in 4 hours time if traveling by Shatabdi Express from Delhi while other trains take 5-6 hours to reach Kalka.
