Permit for Rohtang Pass, Manali

From the year 2016 the National Green Tribunal in its order has allowed issuing of permit for Rohtang Pass for 800 petrol vehicles and 400 diesel vehicles daily. These vehicles will have to ensure that they carry an online permit for Rohtang Pass visit.

The permission for Rohtang Pass is made available to tourists for next 2 days from the current date by making online payment on the Rohtang Pass website.

A fee of Rs 500 has been imposed for all vehicles passing through the eco-sensitive Rohtang Pass area at the time of applying for permit and also Rs 50 as congestion charges a onetime cost of permit for Rohtang Pass.

To get the permission one has to login to the above-mentioned website 3 days in advance from the date of travel and make an online payment of Rs. 550 to get the permit for Rohtang Pass. Carrying a printout or a PDF in your mobile as its mandatory to be shown at Gulaba barrier.

The facility is available for all private cars and taxis registered within and outside Himachal Pradesh to a maximum cap of 800 petrol and 400 diesel vehicles daily. Each car / cab can make a maximum of three visits in a week.

Don’t forget to carry a latest copy of the Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate of the vehicle as it is mandatory and checked at Gulaba check point.
