Kalka to Shimla toy train track is one of India’s most popular rail journey in Shimla hills. Kalka to Shimla train track has been declared UNESCO’s world heritage rail site. Shimla Toy Train track is one of the oldest hill railways built by the British in India.
Kalka to Shimla train runs on narrow gauge track and are popularly known as toy trains. This is an idyllic journey to be enjoyed and not recommended if one is rushing into the hills. By road one can reach faster to Shimla. Cabs are available at the Kalka railway station and charge Rs. 1400 – 2200 for a drop to Shimla.
Train reservations for this route can be made at any railway booking counter or on the internet on the IRCTC website. Shimla is listed as SIMLA on the IRCTC site. A query for Shimla will lead no result.
